Pro Bono

Okay so, I’m freaking out but I swear to god if I change my thesis it has to be tight so…here is a ramble sessions about what I’m thinking.

Let’s paint a picture. I’m me two years ago and I want to do some pro-bono work. I google pro bono design work and the first things I get are blog posts, and then I start trying to find where I can do pro bono work. I then Google “How to find pro bono design” after clicking around a little bit I find a list that AIGA has of non-profts that need pro-bono design work. Except there are only a few and none of them are in Colorado, damn. I then decided to try and find a list of non-profits in Denver and I find this. Then I realize that there are 50 pages of non-profits and how am I to know which ones need design work? Also, I want to work with a non-profit that has similar interests as I, how will I ever narrow it down? After a little while I get frustrated and go cook an egg.

I’m a non-profit, I need some design work, but I have no idea how to find it. I go to a bunch of different websites but a lot of them aren’t local and who knows how much time I’ll spend filling out forms to maybe get a response. Instead I decided looking on the Internet is too much of a headache so I decided to do a more word-of-mouth solution.

“How can modern digital design practices be applied to create a self-supporting framework that appropriately connects in-need non-profits with talented designers seeking pro bono design work?”
